What is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol, shortened to CBD, is one of the main active chemical compounds naturally found in the cannabis plant. CBD and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are two cannabinoid components that contribute to the many beneficial medicinal qualities of medical cannabis.
Unlike THC, CBD does not have any psychoactive side effects that cause you to feel “high”.

While cannabinoids are in small amounts in some fruits and vegetables, the cannabis plant has the highest cannabidiol levels found in nature, and CBD oil is the most potent form.

CBD Is Now Legal in All 50 States
Now that nearly half the states in the nation have legalized or decriminalized cannabis for medical or recreational use, we have all heard of some of the many health benefits of the cannabis plant. Medicinal use of cannabis can be traced back centuries and continues to be beneficial to our health and wellbeing today. As more and more states embrace medical cannabis it is easier to obtain for private use, but still problematic or embarrassing for some. CBD oil derived from the cannabis plant is legal in all 50 and provides the health benefits without any undesirable psychoactive effects.
How Does CBD Oil Work?
CBD oil is absorbed into the body orally through Elixicure brand drops, strips, spray, or vape oil. Once the CBD oil is ingested, it interacts with the human Endocannabinoid system, which is part of the immune system. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment. When the immune system is boosted by taking Cannabinoids the body has a better ability to fight, resist, and also cure many diseases common to the human body; this includes both common ailments and more serious chronic diseases.
CBD Now Endorsed by Doctors
Widespread interest in CBD oil has been catalyzed by CNN’s 2013 documentary entitled “Weed” aired on television. CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta documented the story of Charlotte Figi, a young girl suffering from debilitating seizures due to a severe form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. Gupta showed how CBD treatment dramatically improved Figi’s condition and successfully reduced her seizures when no other medicines would. Charlotte’s story and treatment completely changed Dr. Gupta’s stance on medical cannabis, cannabis, hemp, and he now endorses CBD oil for life-changing medical treatments and its countless positive health benefits.
